Managing Director - Private Wealth Mangement
Angel Ferrer is a Managing Director, Private Wealth Manager for Merrill Private Wealth based in Coral Gables, Florida. Merrill Private Wealth is an elite division within Merrill Lynch that is solely focused on delivering the full suite of financial services available at Merrill to the firm’s largest and most important clients. His responsibilities include serving as the primary point of contact to ultra-high net worth families. He works closely with a team of experienced specialists to offer a wide range of financial services including, investment management, private banking, customized lending, financial planning, trust and estate services and brokerage solutions. He brings with him an extensive finance background including Corporate and Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate Lending and Private Client Management experience.
Mr. Ferrer joined Merrill Private Wealth in April of 2022. Prior to joining Merrill, he worked for Citi Private Bank in a similar capacity since December of 2009. Prior to Citi he worked at Wachovia Wealth Management based in Miami, Florida from July of 2000 through December of 2009. His responsibility at Wachovia were similarly focused on serving the private banking needs of ultra-high net worth families. He took a 2 year hiatus from banking when he served as Director of Investor Relations for UniCapital Corporation (NYSE: UCP) from May of 1998 until June of 2000. While at UCP he was instrumental in executing a $532 million initial public offering, which allowed the Company to acquire 17 equipment leasing companies located throughout the United States. His private banking roots were developed during a near 10 year tenure at Northern Trust Bank of Florida from January 1989 through May of 1998 when he left to pursue the UniCapital opportunity. Mr. Ferrer’s banking career began at Barnett Bank’s Management Training Program in January of 1986.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Finance degree from the University of Miami in December of 1985 and completed the Barry University, Certified Financial Planner Education Program in December of 2005.
