2024 Be A Hero Luncheon

2024 Be A Hero Luncheon

Our 29th Annual Be A Hero Luncheon, recognizing our community superheroes dedicated to bettering the lives of children in foster care, took place on Friday, October 25, 2024 at the Loews Coral Gables Hotel.

Over 500 superheroes gathered to celebrate our 40th anniversary. For four decades, we've been a constant presence for over 45,000 children in Miami-Dade's foster care system. During the event, we honored the legacy of Anabel "Bunchy" Gertner, a true champion for child welfare.

Guests enjoyed live music, a caricature artist, delicious bites and plenty of fun photo opportunities. Proceeds from the event benefit children who are experiencing foster care throughout Miami-Dade county.

A highlight of our luncheon was sharing our 2024 Blue Missions trip. We took 17 young people to the Dominican Republic, where they embarked on a life-changing adventure. Watch the video below to see their incredible journey.
