Rebecca

Rebecca* was just six years old when she entered the foster care system. Disrupted from her familiar life, Rebecca faced another move after living in a pre-adoptive foster home for over 2 years. This, sadly, is common – (national statistics show that 25-50% of children in state custody must transition to new placements at some point during their time in care).
Amidst the constant upheaval, Rebecca (who is now 10) was able to find something that sparked joy: cheerleading. That's where we stepped in. Through generous donations, Voices For Children is providing funding for Rebecca to attend cheerleading camp, and have access to all the needed items, allowing her to pursue her passion.
In Miami-Dade County, there are over 1,500 children in care. As part of our mission to serve as a beacon of hope for abused, abandoned, and neglected children and youth in the Miami-Dade foster care system, we aim to identify, and nurture, whatever helps them thrive. You can help us further our mission by volunteering, donating, or helping us stock our comfort closet.
