Voices for Children brings in $330,000 with golf tournament

In the first few weeks of May, charitable events started at a rapid pace bringing funds to support worthy nonprofits. In fact, one of the biggest fundraisers was held on May 8 at La Gorce Country Club for the Voices for Children Foundation and its Guardian Ad Litem program.
In the first few weeks of May, charitable events started at a rapid pace bringing funds to support worthy nonprofits. In fact, one of the biggest fundraisers was held on May 8 at La Gorce Country Club for the Voices for Children Foundation and its Guardian Ad Litem program.
Board member Brad Meltzer orchestrated a golf tournament that raised $330,000, thanks to generous sponsors and donors who got to play on that beautiful course while enjoying great food and an open bar.
Adding to the fun that day was the announcement that Blake Murphy of Coastal Construction won a Cadillac for making a “Hole-In-One.” For this writer, it was the first time to ever experience a tournament in which that lucky shot was made.
The event also gave Voices for Children Foundation’s president and CEO, Kadie Black, and the foundation’s board chair, Kira Grossman, an opportunity to thank the many sponsors, talk about the programs and accept a the check from the event proceeds.
