Through Asa’s Lens: A Life-Changing Week with BLUE Missions in the Dominican Republic
There are some trips that stay with you long after your suitcase is unpacked—and our annual service journey with BLUE Missions is one of them. This year, twelve incredible young people traveled with us to the Dominican Republic, and thanks to youth participant Asa, we have a vivid window into the experience. Asa documented our week through powerful photography, capturing the heart and humanity behind every moment.
Below are some pictures of our unforgettable week, seen through his eyes and shared with deep gratitude.
We touched down in the Dominican Republic ready to work, and our youth wasted no time diving in. From the first hammer swing to the final hug goodnight, it was clear this trip would be something special. Of the twelve youth who joined us, ten are returners—proof of just how impactful this journey is. When asked why they came back, their answers were unanimous: to give back.
We saw doors and structures being built, but we also saw walls come down—between cultures, generations, and personal limits.
After several days of intense labor and emotional growth, we took time to celebrate. Playa Caleton welcomed us with sunshine, clear blue water, and space to reflect.
Surrounded by dedicated chaperones, our incredible partners at BLUE Missions, and the bond only shared service can create, we spent the day soaking it all in—literally and figuratively. Asa’s beachside snapshots show laughter, gratitude, and a joy that only comes from doing something meaningful together.
If this journey moved you as much as it moved us, we invite you to be part of the next chapter. Your support helps us provide more youth with transformative, hands-on learning experiences like this one—where service, culture, and compassion come together to shape our youth. Every donation, no matter the size, fuels life-changing opportunities that create ripple effects for years to come. Help us continue to build bridges, broaden horizons, and empower our youth to be a force for good. Donate today and be the reason another young person gets to experience the power of purpose.
