Sophie Baker, a driven associate at Blackstone, has always been passionate about making a difference beyond the corporate world. Recently honored with the prestigious Peter G. Peterson Award, Sophie was recognized for her outstanding leadership in nonprofit service. This accolade, named after one of Blackstone’s founders, celebrates employees who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to community impact. Sophie generously donated her award funding to Voices For Children.

 

For Sophie, giving back has always been second nature, inspired by her parents' lessons on compassion and service. When she received the award, she knew exactly where she wanted to focus her efforts: Voices For Children.

 

Her dedication to child advocacy began in New York through CASA NYC, but she yearned for a deeper, hands-on role in Miami. That desire led her to become a child advocate, working directly with children in need in Miami-Dade County. Sophie believes that mentorship and advocacy can change lives, and Voices for Children embodies that mission by ensuring every child has a a path to a brighter future. To potential donors, she offers a simple but powerful message: Every effort—whether through time, resources, or mentorship—creates lasting impact for children who need it most.
