On October 25th, 2019, Voices For Children will celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Be A Voice Luncheon at Jungle Island. Presented by Stearns Weaver Miller, this event will mark 25 years of honoring members of the community who have demonstrated passion and leadership in protecting abused, abandoned, and neglected children in Miami-Dade County.
To commemorate this very special occasion, we will shine the spotlight on the organization that is at the heart of foster care child advocacy– the Guardian ad Litem Program. We will be honoring Rita Swichkow, veteran Guardian ad Litem for the past 38 years and a pioneer in child advocacy as well as other special individuals who have selflessly served vulnerable children in our community. Guests will hear the moving testimony of a youth who has endured the struggle of being thrown into the foster care system as well as that of Kamila Regalado, who will receive the Pathfinder Award. This award is given to former foster youth who have overcome difficult circumstances thanks to the care and support of Guardian ad Litem and Voices For Children Foundation.
