Miami was feeling extra generous Thursday, November 19th, during the city’s 24-hour fundraiser known as Give Miami Day. Voices For Children along with other local non-profits and charitable organizations were at the receiving end of this digital campaign co-sponsored by The Miami Foundation, Knight Foundation and other partners—such as the Miami Marlins and the Miami Heat Charitable Foundation. Beyond their roles as corporate sponsors, these organizations gave additional gifts for every donation made between $25 and $10,000, maximizing the community’s generosity. A longer list of incentives and bonus prizes were awarded throughout the 24-hour period, such as a $500 gift to the organization that received a donation closest to sunrise (approximately 6:41am) or a $1000 bonus for donations made during “happy hour,” from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
While it’s important to lend your support to local charities every day of the year, Give Miami Day was an extra-special time to donate because it’s the one day when your dollar really does go a long way! Thanks to all who showed their support of Voices For Children on Give Miami Day. It was because of the generosity of all those who donated that Voices For Children raised over $53,000! Every dollar raised during Give Miami Day will support the abused, abandoned, and neglected children of Miami-Dade County, which you too can help by visiting here.
