This case had one prior allegation of domestic violence several months prior to both children entering the dependency system. No longer living together, the father visited his children on occasion and inevitably ended up in a physical argument with the mother in the presence of the children. During the last incident, the father arrived at the home for a visit and upon finding the mother with her new boyfriend, shot both the mother and her boyfriend in the presence of Augustus. The father is currently incarcerated without parole and has signed surrenders as to his children. Both children are residing with the maternal grandmother while their mother recovers in the hospital. The GAL Program was recently appointed and working on an appropriate case plan and permanency option for the boys.
