On February 16th, the Guardian ad Litem Program’s fundraising organization Voices For Children, held its 2013 “Be a Voice, Inspire Hope” Gala. Ronald Smith, a foster care youth, stood before nearly 500 guests and told his story of the hardships he endured in the foster care system.
Thanks in part to his Guardian ad Litem advocate, Ronald is now a clear success story for advocacy and a productive member of society. “Voices For Children, through the Guardian ad Litem Program, makes a tremendous difference in the lives of children in foster care,” said Nelson F. Hincapie, President & CEO.
“I like to think of our donors as investors of our community’s future and tonight, Ronald was the best return on investment that anyone could ask for. I think he said it best when he thanked our guests and said ‘Be blessed, but also, be a blessing to someone else.’”
